The Kipride Max is the Decathlon running shoe for those who accumulate kilometers at a leisurely pace: soft midsole, durable sole, price below their direct rivals. We have run more than 200 km in all types of training.
First impressions
The profile is maximalist and is noticeable from the box. A lot of foam, but a more stylish design than other models in the segment. It feels sturdy and well built. At 285 grams in size 43, it is average for a training shoe with this cushioning.
Midsole
Kiprun uses a single density EVA foam they call MFOAM. In the race it is soft and protective: it absorbs the impact well without sinking with every stride. There is enough firmness to keep the tread stable.
Heel: 37mm. Forefoot: 29mm. 8mm drop, compatible with most running techniques.
The midsole has a slight curvature (rocker) that facilitates the transition to smooth rhythms, without reaching the pronounced rocker of shoes with a carbon plate.
Upper
The mesh is a double-layer engineered mesh, soft and breathable. The foot remains ventilated even on hot days.
The last is wide at the tip, which helps in long runs when the foot swells. The laces and padded tongue distribute the pressure in the midfoot well. The heel counter is rigid and the collar is very padded: the ankle is held without chafing.

Sole
High-strength rubber on almost the entire plant. After 200 km, wear is minimal, which points to a service life above 800 km. On dry asphalt the grip is solid. In the wet, it complies on asphalt and sidewalks, but loses traction on tiles. Transverse grooves in the forefoot give it some flexion despite the rubber block.

Running sensations
At more than 5:00 min/km, the Kipride Max performs well: it protects joints and muscles, withstands long runs and recovery days without punishing. For those who prepare for a half marathon or marathon and seek comfort in easy filming, it is their strong point.
Between 4:30 and 5:00 min/km run smoothly. At faster rates, the foam absorbs impact but does not return energy. For series or competition, look for another model. If you don't know how to structure your sneaker rotation, our guide can help.
The ideal runner
We recommend the Kipride Max for:
- Runners over 75-80 kg: the cushioning protects the joints in each stride.
- Beginners: protective and forgiving of technical errors.
- Popular marathon runners: as a training shoe for soft running and long runs.
- High-volume runners: If you run 4 or more days a week, rotating with this model reduces the risk of injury.
The resistance to deal with these volumes is not only physical. Do you know what your mental profile is as an athlete? Find out with our free mindset test.

vs. Brooks Ghost 15: The Ghost is more versatile if you need to pick up the pace one day. The Kipride Max surpasses it in pure cushioning.
vs. ASICS Gel-Nimbus 26: Similar comfort sensations, considerably lower price.
